The impact of the Andalusian experience on the Jewish and Muslim cultures is present both in contemporary and century old songs. In this medley Spanish- Andalusian flavor is apparent in the opening segment, a recent Turkish love song originally titled “Mihriban”. The Turkish verse sung by Maya Haddi is followed by an Arabic verse featuring Najwa Gibran. Then a clarinet solo escorts in a new beat: A Moroccan trance groove, serving as a foundation for an old Jewish-Moroccan Andalusian praise song to God, originally titled “Adir Lo Yanum” (Great, Who Would Never Sleep)
